Night 1: Hotel B+B, Dar es salaam

Upon arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport in Dar es Salaam you will receive a warm welcome to Tanzania! Meet & Greet with your Safari Guide before you transfer to your accommodation in Dar es Salaam. After settling in, you will have a Safari Briefing and time for last questions in regard to your Tanzania adventure. Also, you have the chance to explore the city of Dar es salaam.

Nights 2,3,4: Mikumi National Park & Udzungwa

After breakfast, we will depart to Mikumi. We recommend an early start to avoid the morning traffic in Dar es Salaam. Your journey follows the Tan-Zam-Highways inland and passes local farms and villages. Sisal plantations are a common sight along the way. Arrival at National Park in time for Hot Lunch. After some rest, enjoy a first game drive in Mikumi in the afternoon. Overnight at campsite areas inside of the park where mobile camp will be waiting for us. Another day in the wild spend the half day exploring Mikumi National Park and search for large mammals. Mikumi National Park is dominated by an open grassland plain surrounded on three sides by mountains – creating an impressive landscape. In the afternoon, you will exit the park and go to Camp Bastian, Lunch will be served. The food is good here and they are generally one of the better places to stay at Mikumi.

Evening, you will start the day with a cultural visit to a local Maasai village in Mikumi. The Maasai are a popular traditional tribe in Tanzania and Kenya. Overnight and dinner at Camp Bastian where our mobile tent setup.

After breakfast and drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park for a spend the day on a hiking adventure and explore Udzungwa Mountains National Park by foot together with a ranger. The landscape is dominated by lush montane forest and as you follow the walking trails, look out for endemic birds, butterflies, and primates. There are various hiking trails available – some even lead to a waterfall for a refreshing bath.

Udzungwa is famous for the Udzungwa Red Colobus, but you might also spot the Angola-Black-and-White Colobus. Return to your Mobile camp for dinner and overnight.

Nights 5,6,7

After breakfast in our mobile campsite in Udzungwa forest, proceed via the town of Morogoro to Mbuyuni Farm – your days accommodation. Each year, Mbuyuni Farm produces around 25,000 kg of spices and herbal teas. The majority of them are exported to Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.

The visit on the farm is an excellent experience to learn how chili and herbals teas are produced and processed in Tanzania; and is best combined with an overnight stay to fully take in this experience! Overnight Mid-Range: Mbuyuni Farm Retreat

Drive to Nyerere National Park

The drive today leads along the northern foothills of the Uluguru Mountains until it reaches the western gate of Matambwe. The Nyerere national park is the largest protected wilderness area in Africa and covers roughly 50,000 km², of which 2,500 km² are open to tourists.

Enjoy a first game drive as you drive from the western part to the eastern part of the park, where your Campsite is located. Dinner and overnight.

Nights 7,8

Aamazing days await you as you explore Nyerere National Park. Watch out for buffalos, elands, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, warthogs, and zebras. Selous/Nyerere is also home to a large predator population. Hyenas, lions, and wild dogs are often seen; cheetahs, jackals, and leopards, on the other hand, are difficult to spot.

Your stay also includes a boat safari along the many lakes and riverbanks. You will often spot Nile crocodiles sunbathing and partly submerged hippos along with a diverse variety of birds and walking safari accompanied by a bushman.

Safari ends on day 9 – your guide will drop you at a bush airstrip at Mtemere in Nyerere – you will be flown Dar by light aircraft for your connecting flight home.
