UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS
Thus, Udzungwa Mountains National park is termed as a primate paradise accommodating a wide array of primates. It is the only national park in Tanzania that accommodates 11 primate species at one time. Five of those 11 species are found only within the park borders and nowhere else in Africa The landscape in Udzungwa mountains National Park includes both a tropical rainforest, a mountain forest, the miombo forest, grassland and steppe.

This waterfall has a unique and distinct characteristic that gives a wonderful experience to visitors. Best time to visit Udzungwa mountains

 

As with many areas of Tanzania, it is best to avoid the rainy season in April and May as the roads become more difficult to navigate. Peak game viewing season is June through to October, but never dismiss November to March – it’s always a little quieter and prices are lower, but it’s still a good time to visit.

Hiking

The park is well known for its hiking activities, besides trekking, mountain climbing and forest walks. You can access the park only on your feet, giving you the chance to explore the mountain secrets and enjoy adventure

Local Activities

One of the local activities is cycling. Bring your own bike or rent a bike. There is a variety of bike sizes for all ages. Within the national park, there are no cycling trails, however, the valley provides a great deal of cycling terrain that is full of things to see.

You can combine other activities along with cycling such as rubber plantation, village tour. You can go with one of the guides to explore the local rural villages, and have a great chance for photography and interaction with the traditional Tanzanian life.
